Highland Quintessential was created because Alexa, the founder, over her 12 years' tenure as a teacher and high profile/celebrity nanny, noticed a large gap between parenting and childcare services. She believed it was not enough to just assure the safety of a child, but to always utilize time constructively and effectively to further their growth and development. If someone is going to spend 8 hours or more per day with a child, they should be the most productive 8 hours possible. Too often Alexa came across nanny's on their phones, ignoring tantrums, providing unhealthy foods, and distracting iPhones. She believed it could and needed to be improved and thus, Highland Quintessential was born.
Highland Quintessential is here to bridge the gap between parenting and childcare services by introducing an integral person who can act on behalf of the parents without having to compromise education and growth.
What sets Highland Quintessential apart from any other agency is our in-house training of each candidate. Before a nanny is placed with a family, they are vetted for reference checks, a clear criminal background, CPR & First Aid, and education credentials. But uniquely, the last requirement is each nanny must pass a rigorous course on how to engage your child across the four major developmental domains: behaviour, speech, motor movement, and social well-being, and be able to prepare, cook, and plan nutritional meals.
Highland Quintessential takes a wholistic but fun and active approach to childcare in order to promote constant growth, adaptability, independence, self-play and discovery, as well as self-appreciation and self-esteem. In a generation surrounded by technology, it becomes increasingly harder to instil these values in children. Highland Quintessential nannies develop a strong foundation from day one of their placements to help foster these values and give children the tools they need to not only succeed within the family dynamic but in any environment they are situated. Our nannies - with the guidance and approval of the parents - develop a routine that daily addresses the progresses of the four domains and helps the child become an independent member of their dynamic family and society.
Highland Quintessential's motto is it takes a village because everyone needs help. We just believe you deserve to get the BEST help and that is a Highland Quintessential Nanny.
